What is a VPL?

Have you ever heard of the term VPL? When I first heard about it I didn't really have a clue to what it meant or what it stands for. So what is a VPL? Here's what Urban Dictionary has to say.

A couple of days ago I was able to read a blog entry from a woman who claims to be a former newspaper writing coach. She claims that twitter, text messaging, emoticons and what have you's are poisoning the English language. That the use of abbreviated words (e.g. BTW, by the way or BRB, be right back) to suffice our needs to communicate is getting out of hand since such words even end up in formal writing. I have to admit this is very true. But honestly if people want to write BGD, EMA or Deets to their CV's then let them, people should be responsible enough. Just wish them good luck Hahaha.

Don't you just find it amusing how people come up with these clever acronyms and abbreviations? I do.

Anyway, can you guess this VPL?

Last Tuesday, September 09, the biggest names in Fashion and Celebrities a like gathered together to celebrated the 5th year of Fashion Rocks at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The event which started 5 years ago duh honors the extraordinary relationship between fashion and music by showcasing the best in the worlds of fashion. music and lifestyle.

The event hosted by Dennis Learie highlights fashion & music’s most glamorous artists including performances from Beyonce, BEP (Black Eyes Peas), Chris Brown, Kid Rock, Duffy, Fergie, Justin Timberlake, L'il Wayne, Keith Urban, Mariah Carey, Rihanna, Chris Cornell, One Republic, Pussycat Dolls and more.

No official video has been released but YouTube has many clips in the circulation. One highlight of the show that has caused quite a ruckuss was Rihanna's opening performance with her rendition of Madonna's uber famous Vogue. It was truly a stellar performance and I bow to Rihanna for working it. Madonna must be very flattered.

Found him

Since yesterday I've been raving about that guy in the C2 TVC called "Goodness". It was goodness alright because that male model is hot, sizzling plate hot. I tried googling it to find out who he is but I just ended up with a YouTube post of the commercial. But with much perseverance and dedication... choz! I finally found out who he is. And where? of course, how can I miss it, in YouTube as well. This other video clip is longer and has 2 TVC's with it, Goodness and Chrono. Plus it has a few behind the scenes clips. I love it, I love him! :) Click here to see the video.

So without furthur a do, I present Carlos Freire. I like to call him Mighty Meaty or M&M for short hahaha. Parang candy lang diba?

Born Carlinhos Freire in 1985 in his native Brazilian soil. Standing 6-feet tall with brown hair and dark brown eyes, Carlos is considered one of Brazil's freshest new modeling faces. His career began early in his teens but was truly recognized when he joined 40 Graus Models in 2006, a modeling agency who launched Carlos's career as a Top-male model.

He has been featured in countless magazines including Vanity Fair, Out, DNA, Quem, Drops and Style: Men magazine. He has also posed for top Brazilian photographers Fernando Torquatto and Michael Roberts. After spending a year modeling in Asia, Carlos has moved to the US and soon after arriving in Los Angeles he shot a new campaign for the underwear company International Jock.

I've compiled a few pictures of him, click the link below.

Fat free!

I would love to have him for breakfast, lunch, dinner and the snacks in between!

Beam her to the moon

Last week premiered Cycle 11's first episode of America's Next Top Model. Being a fan I was really excited to have watched it and of course I wanted to be able to see Isis, the first and only Trans gender contestant. It was a 2-hour special to be able to screen and select the 14 finalists out of the 20+ girls.

Isis rockin it during the shoot

The set wasn't very impressing, it was called Top Model Institute of Technology. Compared to Cycle 10's Top Model Preparatory, this current set was so cheezy. They gave the set a very futuristic look with almost everything painted white, radar thingy, a server looking equipment and what have you. It would've worked though, if we were still in the 80's and Gem and the Holograms was still my favorite cartoon.

Tyra Banks acting robotic

As the show progressed I developed a few likings among the 14 finalists. One of them is Lauren Bri, a 20 y/o girl from Virginia. The first thing I noticed about her is her eyes. Her eyes were fiece and stricking just like Jessica Stam.

Lauren (left) Jessica Stam (right)
Nice eyes no?

I also like Marjorie , a 19 y/o French girl who grew up in San Francisco. So far she is my favorite among the group. She is very akward and her do is very Laura Hollins. I love love her. She reminds of Shandi Sullivan from Cycle 2 but more fashion forward.

I like her sense of style!

So far the show is really good and I think things will get very interesting soon. I hope the Isis talk within the girls stops. Discrimination sucks! I hope all goes well for her, it'll be a stiff competition.

Rekindling an old crush

Exactly 2 years ago a show titled "Fashion House" was shown on television. At first glance I thought it was a crappy show, it was. A whole lot of bad acting and an ambitious plot. In addition, Ugly Betty was going to air their pilot episode in 2 weeks, so maybe this show was a cheap copycat trying to overshadow Ugly Betty even before it airs. I didn't even bother downloading episodes of the show until it aired on Star World in early 2007.

The show really did sucked and Star World was airing it to kill air time in preparation for another show. It was shown at 9pm'ish on weekdays and lasted for about a month and a half. During that time there were all this buzz with the success of Ugly Betty and I was intrigued enough to watch another fashion themed show, so, I decided to watch it.

My first reactions on the show was not about the story but was on how good looking the cast were. The women were gorgeous and the men were playgirl hot. I mean in the real world a face like theirs wouldn't even fit a secretarial position, they were just too pretty. Thus making the story feel too superficial and unrealistic.

One character stood out from the rest though. Robert Buckley, he played the role of Michael Bauer, a playboy photographer who is best friends with Luke Gianni (Taylor Kinney), the son of a Fashion Empire CEO played by Bo Derek. Robert Buckley was just so enticing to watch and since his character fooled around so much he almost always had no shirt on. It was just salivating fun watching him, I was kinda glued to the television and soon enough I was religiously watching the show to see him hahaha. I was like that until the end of it's season, it's only season...

But then the show Lipstick Jungle aired. He was back and this time as Kirby Atwood. I don't really watch the show but I do know that he still likes to take his shirt off. The show has had mixed reviews from critics although he has grown quite popular among the girl and gay audiences. He seems to be more popular than the 3 ladies leading the show. Sucks for them! I might consider watching the show though, but not at the moment. Maybe when a DVD copy is released, maybe, maybe not.

Anyway, I found a really cool site from Levis featuring Robert Buckley. It has a video where you can see him almost naked with two other men. Hmmn... how I wish i was a cookie container! hehehe See the video to know why.

Akihiro Sato

Born Akihiro “Aki” Sato, a 21 year old half-Japanese, half-Brazilian model. Packaging a lean physique in his 6'1" height, a 31-inch waist, and a face that can make straight men wanna be gay. Oh how hot things get whenever I see him, let alone seeing him without a shirt on. His looks captures you and for some reason you can't stop looking back (at his pictures! syet). I love those eyes, the way he stares is hypnotic and it translates with his photographs. It has a mystery to it and that's what I think is his best feature.

photocredit: thedailymodel

Currently he's here in the Philippines, signed up for modelling gigs for Penshoppe & correct me if I'm wrong also has a TVC for Closeup, to name a few. His latest addition to the gays and gals hand and lotion collection is him being featured in the latest edition of Cosmomen 2008. Oh how I wish I was in that tub with him. I've recently joined a gay blogging community "PinoyGayBlogs.com" and from the hundreds of members I can see that he has made quite a commotion. Sprouting posts after posts of pictures and articles about him, including me, in my 10 years too late of a post. Hahaha
